Detergents are chemical substances used to clean surfaces. They contain surfactants that can dissolve and emulsify grease and dirt particles. In the drilling industry, detergents are specifically used to improve drilling fluids and increase the efficiency of drilling processes. They are mainly used for the following functions: - Surface cleaning to improve cement bond between wellbore and casing - Dirt removal - Viscosity control - Lubrication - Emulsion properties
